At Brianna’s Books and Randomnesses, I learned about the Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt! Head over to her website to see her scavenger hunt answers.
Here’s mine, with some help from my baby sister. (All photos are of my actual book copies.)
Find an author or title with a “Z” in it.

The Book Thief, one of my absolute favorite historical-fiction novels, is written by Markus Zusak.
Find a classic.

Moby Dick, written by Herman Melville, is one the most popular classics today. I still haven’t read the entire thing though.
Find a book with a key on it.

Sarah’s Key by Tatiana De Rosnay is another historical fiction favorite of mine. (And the key really is important.)
Find something on your bookshelf that isn’t a book.

Other than my old fashioned phone, I’ve got quite a few photos and some various nick-knacks. No, the phone doesn’t work.
Find the oldest book on your shelf.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen was published in 1813. I haven’t read this one yet.
Find a book with a woman on it.

Edenbrooke is written by Julianne Donaldson. It takes place in 1816. Although this is one of the newer additions to me favorites list, it is absolutely wonderful!
Find a book that has an animal on it.

The Rise of Nine is the 3rd book in the I am Number Four series. This is one my favorite series!
Find a book with a male protagonist.

The Kingdom Keepers series by Ridley Pearson, another favorite of mine, is told by Finn Whitman. He’s the guy on the very front of the cover.
Find a book with only words on the cover.

I haven’t read this yet. But I do like the simplicity of the cover.
Find a book with illustrations in it.

The Girl with the Roses is actually written by a family-friend of mine. (Another indie-author.) Her illustrations are awesome!
Find a book with gold lettering.

I love the cover for this book!
Find a diary, true or fictional.

I had a couple books to choose from for this, but the Diary of Anne Frank is absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking.
Find a book written by an author with a common surname.

Adams seems like a pretty common surname. I haven’t read this book yet.
Find a favorite childhood book.

This was the first book I read all by myself when I was learning to read!
Find a book based on the earliest time period.

The Bible starts with the creation of the world. You can’t really have an earlier time period than that.
Find a hardcover without the jacket.
I’m going to have to pass this one. All my hardcovers have their jackets. 🙂
Find a teal or turquoise colored book.

I love Mockingjay. And the color teal.
Find a book with stars on it.

I guess I kind of cheated on this one. This is my sister’s book and doesn’t technically go on my shelf, but she insisted I include it.
Find a non-YA book.

This is definitely not a YA book. I haven’t finished it yet.
Find a book with a beautiful cover.

Much like the story inside, the cover of this book is beautiful!

I love the Book Thief! I can’t participate in this hunt though because all my books are digital.
